There are many many ways to tie a knot; however, I prefer to break it down to three knots. The four-in-hand knot is the typical knot you see any joe or jane wearing. This knot originates from England. Men would knot their tie this way to prevent it from flapping in the wind when they rode the coach. The Windsor knot is what I refer to as the thick knot or the gentlemen knot. This knot is well... huge. This is for sure the show stopper. The last knot is the half-Windsor. This is by far my all time favorite knot. It's a knot that if tied correctly will make the ladies swoon; and most importantly, will give you that dapper look. However, with any knot you decide to tie make sure you always have the dimple/crease in the center of the tie right below the knot. Doing so the tie will create the correct amount of fullness you need to look like your best! (Clothes and the Man by Alan Flusser)
